Wonders of Wireless

February 2017

As part of its ongoing commitment to Wi-Fi and WLAN technology, Barcode Dynamics is proud to partner with Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) company. Aruba, which was acquired by HPE in 2015, is a world-leader in wireless network technology.

Wi-Fi is commonly used in physical settings requiring both network connectivity and user mobility – such as warehouses, factories, hospitals, motels and educational facilities. Wi-Fi provides many unique advantages over a traditional “cabled” network, including mobility, convenience, simpler deployment and enhanced productivity – particularly for workers on the move.

At Barcode Dynamics, we can vouch for the performance and cost-effectiveness of the Aruba “Instant” range of Wi-Fi products and services. The Aruba Instant solution utilises the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard - providing theoretical speeds of up to 1.7 Gbps - and doesn’t require additional controller hardware. In the absence of controller hardware, authentication and configuration is performed by the access points (APs) themselves.

The Aruba Instant access points (APs), which are usually wall-mounted, can be deployed indoors or outdoors. Network redundancy is provided in the form of dual Ethernet and 3G/4G USB modem ports (located on the access points themselves). A very popular access point (AP) model is the Instant 314/315 Wave 2, which is ideal for high-density client environments.
