The Gryphon I GD4500 is noted for its ability to read coloured labels, as well as 1D, 2D, postal, stacked and composite codes. The 4-dot aimer (with centre cross) on the Gryphon I GD4500 ensures precision scanning and reduces accidental reads.

The Gryphon I GD4500 is also available in a healthcare version (with anti-microbial enclosure) and a digital watermarking version (with red illumination optics).
